ON Semi announced discontinuation of CCDs
ON Semiconductor (On Semi) has announced a short-term discontinuation of its CCD image sensor production. All CCD products are impacted by this change. For those devices that have no recommended replacement identified, ON Semi has partnered with Rochester Electronics who will carry any remaining device inventory to potentially allow for a continued source after ON Semiconductor has completed its business process.
Last order acceptance for CCD sensors is March 18, 2020. The company will subsequently cease production and close its plant in Rochester/USA.
