Fraunhofer IZFP will present a demonstrator that visualizes properties and defects in steel components at control Messe. The magneto-optical inspection system is based on the Faraday effect. A digital camera visualizes the magnetic field strength distributions on material surfaces in the form of grayscale images in near-real time, which in turn enables a precise assessment of material conditions. The VISiMOS demonstrator was further optimized with a special high-speed camera to generate high-resolution stress distributions and defect images.
