Digital multi-wavelength holography enables the rapid, highly accurate, and area-wide measurement of surface topographies. The sensors of the Fraunhofer IPM’s HoloTop system family measure with accuracies down to the sub-micrometer range. The latest variant, HoloTop NX, allows measurements of coin-sized technical surfaces in approximately one-tenth of a second, generating up to 9 million 3D points. The sensor has now been integrated for the first time into the Leitz Infinity 3D CMM from Hexagon’s PMM-C series. In a comparative measurement on a 75x75mm test object, it generated more than 700 million 3D measurement points in just under 2 minutes at a working distance of 120mm.
