Deep Learning Based Bin Picking

MVTec is presenting a deep learning based bin picking application at Vision. In this application, a robotic system grasps arbitrary objects with unknown shapes with the help of Halcon. The application combines 3D vision and deep learning with the goal of robustly recognizing gripping surfaces. Unlike typical bin picking applications, there is no need to learn object surfaces. Therefore, no prior knowledge about the respective objects is required.
