Thanks to the new software feature One Click Roughness, the new FocusX measuring device from Bruker Alicona delivers ISO-compliant profile roughness values with just one click, with the minimum measurable roughness being 0.06m. With the Round Tool Alignment feature, the operator can also plan the interesting measuring positions for edge rounding directly on the CAD of the milling cutter or drill. After clamping the tool, an automated sensor routine detects the orientation of the tool and aligns it with the CAD data. The 3D measurements and the evaluation of the edge rounding are then carried out completely automatically at the positions defined on the CAD. Both features are part of the MetMaX software, version 4.0 of which will be presented for the first time at Control.
