Alkeria’s latest addition to its Celera P camera series, a polarization camera to use dual-USB3 technology, features the 12MP Sony Pregius IMX 253 sensor. The adoption of this sensor allowed the company to create the C12SX-MP camera. Since the monochrome video format is not suitable for visualizing AoLP and DoLP information, Alkeria developed a new feature: FusionView. The feature maps AoLP to the Hue component of the HSV color space and DoLP to the Saturation component, giving an preview of these properties of light. Thanks to its FPGA architecture, the cameras can execute polarization detection directly on-board.
