The smart multi-tool profile sensors OXM by Baumer are designed to enable the fast solution of individual measuring tasks due to measuring functions directly integrated in the sensor and simple operability. For increased precision, the OXM200 is now also available with a blue laser beam. The short wavelength of the blue laser light reduces spatial noise and thus enables measurement results with a resolution of up to 3µm and a measuring range of 25mm even with more demanding materials such as plastics. With the new OXM100 sensors with IO-Link and Modbus RTU, the manufacturer also offers a cost-effective solution for use in series machine construction. They have the same toolset as the OXM200 module and are said to be just as immune to ambient light as the sensors with fieldbuses. Measured values can be transmitted quickly and easily from the sensor to the control system via the IO-Link interface; teach-in and configuration are carried out via a web interface.
