At the Vision trade show, Infineon is showcasing a PCI Express Gen4 x4 add-on card reference design for the implementation of USB 20Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2×2). This design combines ASMedia’s ASM4242 USB4 host controller with Infineon’s EZ-PD CCG7 USB Power Delivery (PD) controller. The reference design features two USB-C ports, each supporting data rates of up to 20Gbps and USB Power Delivery of up to 36W (5V/3A and 12V/3A). This enables AI-based camera systems to be supplied with both data and power directly via the USB connection.
