Cognex has expanded the capabilities of the In-Sight 2800 vision system to include optical character recognition (OCR). The new ViDi EL Read tool, based on edge-learning technology, deciphers clear text on reflective, low-contrast and uneven surfaces. With the ViDi EL Read-Tool, models are set up directly on the device in just a few minutes using only ten sample images. The accuracy of the results is measured with a so-called Confidence Score displayed under each of the trained characters, providing real-time visual feedback and reliable traceability throughout the supply chain.
