The current firmware update 3.2 by IDS makes an additional interface available for the uEye+ LE cameras. Using I2C, external devices can now be controlled via the cameras (send). On the other hand, actions can be triggered in the host by querying the interface (receive). Compared to using individual digital IOs, this allows for more complex control. By directly connecting two boards, users benefits from greater flexibility in device and circuit development.
