Sony Semicon’s IMX901 and IMX902 global shutter image sensors can achieve high-resolution imaging with approximately 16.41/12.38 effective megapixels, respectively, thanks to their 2.74µm miniature pixel and horizontal-only 8K/6K high pixel count (wider aspect ratio). The IMX901 is compatible with C-mount lenses, which are commonly used in industrial applications, so it can offer a wide angle of view in high definition with 8K horizontal resolution and 2K vertical resolution. Cameras with the new sensors can capture a wide area in the horizontal direction in just one shot, allowing users to reduce the number of cameras compared to conventional multi-camera systems.
