Version 5.1 of MVTec’s Merlic image processing software will be released on April 7. In particular, the range of Deep Learning functions has been expanded. In addition to the Anomaly Detection and Classification features, which were already included in the previous version, Deep OCR has been added. With the Artificial Intelligence Acceleration Interface (AI²) plug-ins for the Nvidia TensorRT SDK and the Intel distribution of the OpenVINO Toolkit, users can now use supported AI accelerator hardware. Tools using DL functions thus achieve better inference times when combined with compatible hardware such as Nvidia GPUs or Intel processors including GPUs, CPUs and VPUs.
