BASF subsidiary Trinamix is working with Qualcomm to establish Trinamix’s patented skin recognition technology as the new standard for face recognition on mobile devices. The Beam Profile Analysis technology generates three data streams from a single camera system: a 2D IR image, a 3D depth map and a material classification. The unique skin recognition technology prevents face recognition from being tricked by masks, high-resolution prints or 3D rendering of the owner’s facial features.
