A picking system has been developed for the Hugo picking robot of Nomagic’s justPick product line that is specially designed for fully automated picking in AutoStore systems. From the source bins (divided into up to eight) provided at the AutoStore ports, the robotic arm picks the ordered items and places them in shipping cartons in various orientations in a volume-optimized manner. This is made possible by an integrated AI vision system and software by Nomagic. By incorporating a scanner into the robotic solution, a variety of SKUs and barcode types can be captured simultaneously and incorporated into the data processing with industry-standard performance metrics. In an application at Swiss e-commerce store Brack.ch, such a robotic solution fully automatically picks and packs batch size 1 orders of up to 200 items per hour.
