For the Texas Instruments AM68x/TDA4x processor, Phytec presents the phyBoard-Izar rapid development kit, which also includes a phyCam-M camera module. The processor is specially optimized for computationally intensive image processing and AI applications and, in addition to two Cortex-A72 processing cores, has dedicated hardware accelerators for image and video processing. These include an integrated ISP, a unit for stereo vision and motion estimation, and an AI accelerator with an output of 8 TOPS. Separate controller units are also integrated for safety, security, and device management.
