Tamron presents an autofocus lens with time-of-flight. Autofocus is operated by ToF only, without using image data from the camera at all. The distance measuring sensor and control are completed within the lens, eliminating the need for system development. The focus adjustment is carried out by Tamron’s actuator technology. The ToF sensor is for distance measurement and the AF operation. The system can use C-mount machine vision lenses that are interchangeable.
