Tichawa Vision had introduced the V(ARI) U(niversal) CIS (Comapct Image Sensors) earlier this year. The VUCIS are available in lengths up to 1820mm, and can be supplied with a choice of 16 different illumination geometries and ten different illumination colors. VUCIS is the further development of the VTCIS technology, but in addition to the many illumination variants, it can also be equipped with eight different optics with both long and short focal lengths. CameraLink and GigE are currently possible as interfaces to the PC. 10GigE and CoaxPress interfaces are also planned.
The Vial Scanner by Schäfter+Kirchhoff (www.sukhamburg.com) was developped for the in-situ imaging of Drosophila pupae and for automated measurement of their size.
