With the latest firmware for its Alvium cameras, Allied Vision makes direct GenICam access possible for MIPI CSI-2 cameras. The Vimba 6.0 SDK includes a new CSI-2 transport layer. All SFNC features available with Alvium USB3 cameras can now be used with Alvium CSI-2 cameras. This offers the possibility to use a USB camera for prototyping and replace it with a CSI-2 camera after the application has been developed. Currently, some models of the Alvium 1800 C already have this feature, which should also be available for other models soon.
