Surface-wide Inline Roughness Measurement

The new inline sensors from Fraunhofer IPM can be used to measure the roughness of surfaces quickly, over a large area and without contact. Spectral speckle correlation (SSK) is used for this. The method is based on the analysis of speckle patterns that arise when coherent light hits a surface and is scattered.
