VDMA expects production to decline again in 2020
The mechanical engineering industry in Germany must continue to prepare for the strains. The trade dispute between the USA and China and growing global protectionism are not without consequences for the German mechanical engineering industry.

Other factors include the weak economy, Brexit and structural change in key customer groups. For this reason, the VDMA expects real production in the mechanical engineering sector to fall by -2% in 2020 – just as it does this year.
