Robot-Based Roughness Measurement

Mahr Engineered Solutions (MES) has developed a cost-effective solution for automating recurring measurements. A collaborating robot loads measuring stations in the measuring room or near production. The system consists of a workpiece storage on which the MarSurf measuring station for roughness measurement is located. A robot arm is attached to the side, which can access the magazines. The robot then places the components on the workpiece holder of the device and the measurement is started automatically. The robot can be easily reprogrammed for other workpieces, and other measuring stations such as shape measurement are also conceivable with the solution.
