Thanks to a SerDes adapter board developed by Vision Components and the use of a coaxial cable, cable lengths of over 10m can now be realized with the MIPI-CSI-2 interface. The FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) cable is available in three standard variants with 15, 22 and 24 poles, as well as in 60, 100 and 200mm lengths. With four lanes and a processing speed of 1.5GBit/s per lane, transmission rates of 6GBit/s are possible, which corresponds to 750MB/s with an 8-bit pixel resolution. The FPC cables have a trigger input and a flash output. In addition, there are repeater boards that can be used to extend the cable length by a factor of up to five.
