Thanks to a high-performance processor, 2D/3D sensor data can be processed and merged directly in the sensor of IFM’s O3M AI collision warning system for mobile machines. A plausibility check of the AI-supported person detection is performed and compared with the environmental information from the 3D sensor. People, obstacles, and distances are detected simultaneously and more accurately than before. The smart sensor system generates a video from the 2D/3D camera data that reproduces the surroundings and simultaneously overlays information on the exact distances of all objects and people within a radius of up to 25m into the image.
