Inline Edge Distance Measurements for Adhesive Beads
Coherix introduces 3D Lateral Tracking, a new technology integrated into the company’s 3D inline inspection system for adhesive bead detection. By combining 3D measurement technology with specialized robot options, the system detects component deviations in real time and dynamically adjusts the robot path during application. A laser in front of the nozzle continuously calculates the distance of the bead to the workpiece edge, while a laser behind the nozzle checks the bead quality. Robot programmers can select from four freely combinable laser edge distance measurements to precisely adapt the path to different component areas.
