Thanks to a new single-shot technology from Fraunhofer IOF, the goRobot3D system can capture 3D objects even faster. The measurement and evaluation time for transparent or deep-black objects has been reduced from 15 seconds to just under 1.5 seconds. A new projection method for thermal 3D sensing has been developed for this purpose. This applies single-shot technology to thermal 3D measurement technology. Instead of the previous stripe projections, two diffractive optical elements (DOEs) now generate an irregular dot pattern. The recorded 3D data is analyzed using AI. Suitable gripping points and directions are derived and transmitted to a robot arm with a suction gripper.
