Changes in product design or batches can be quickly integrated by a user without special training directly from the production line.
With up to 5MP resolution and built-in illumination, the Inspector83x is a powerful all-in-one device. It features a quad-core CPU and high-speed data transfer, enabling it to process AI inspections directly on the device at faster speeds than previous models. This makes it ideal for demanding FMCG production applications, achieving up to 15 inspections per second for tasks such as defect detection and classification. The Inspector83x handles complex inspections with ease, including verifying assemblies and reading text (OCR/OCV). With optional features like color imaging, the Inspector83x is also an ideal choice for color sorting and quality assurance. Pre-installed with SICK Nova software, the Inspector83x is user-friendly out-of-the-box, requiring no specialized knowledge to set up inspections. A standard PC connected via USB-C or network interface allows users to train the camera with as few as five examples, combining AI with rule-based tools for pragmatic inspection configurations.
The Inspector83x simplifies machine vision, eliminating the need for specialists when product designs or packaging change. The cutting-edge AI technology enables non-expert users to rapidly solve vision applications such as quality assurance, defect detection, and sorting directly on the device by simply teaching it by examples. It is also easy to add new examples, and the camera adapts on its own. For more complex scenes, users can access SICK’s dStudio cloud service to train neural networks, which can be exported to the device. Advanced users can expand functionality with Lua programming and HALCON. The Inspector83x ensures rapid data transfer with dual ports for EtherNet/IP or Profinet integration and a high-speed GBit Ethernet port for high-resolution image transfer and data logging. It supports seamless integration with machine controls and can export customized configurations for common PLC types with a single click. The device features seven inputs and five outputs, with precise calibration for image outputs based on time or encoder inputs, enabling connected machine controls. While the Inspector83x can operate as a standalone device, it offers a range of accessories, including external light sources.
